Hawks offense returns many skill positions in 2016

The connection between Shawano Community High School quarterback Jack Hanauer and wide receiver Dylan Sumnicht, both juniors, is one of the best in the Bay Conference. Parent urges more awareness of sexual predators after basketball camp incident
The parent of a child who attended a basketball camp last week where a 13-year-old was allegedly targeted for sexual contact by a basketball coach said she hopes the incident will lead to more public awareness of sexual predators. Nicholas R. Bennett, 23, of Portland, Oregon, was charged Monday with using a computer to facilitate a sex crime and attempted child enticement.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL Shawano loses to Peshtigo Shawano’s season ended Tuesday with a 25-20, 25-16, 25-19 loss to Peshtigo in a WIAA Division 2 regional quarterfinal match in Peshtigo. Anna M. Metzger
Anna Mary Metzger, 92, of Gresham, passed away on Monday, Oct. 19, 2015, at the ThedaCare Medical Center of Shawano. Anna was born in Milwaukee on Oct. 12, 1923, to the late Leo S. and Marguerite (Fecht) Pross. On Jan. 16, 1943, she was united in marriage to Delton George “Jack” Metzger at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Milwaukee. Jack preceded her in death on Jan.

Mary K. Kupsky
Mary K. Kupsky, 60, of the town of Belle Plaine, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2015, in Embarrass. Mary was born on Feb. 4, 1955, in Shawano to the late Henry and Esther (Bendickson) Pludeman. On Aug. 24, 1974, in Bonduel, Mary was united in marriage to Michael Kupsky. Michael preceded her in death in 2000.
