Winter storm hits ‘fast and furious’

A winter storm walloped the Shawano area Tuesday in the middle of the workday, closing schools, snarling traffic and prompting businesses to send employees home early. Man arrested after high-speed chase

Winter storm could bring foot of snow to Wisconsin
It may not measure up to the "groundhog blizzard" of 2011, but a strong winter storm moving into Wisconsin is expected to pack a punch. Forecasters say a large swath of the Badger State, from the southwest to the northeast, will see 8 to 12 inches of snow. The National Weather Service issued a winter storm watch for much of the state beginning Tuesday morning through Wednesday morning.

Hot start flies Hawks past GB East

Perhaps February can chase away the winter blahs
I am beginning to believe that I have a bad case of the “winter blahs.” Even though the days and weeks have been humming past fairly quickly since January began, I keep wanting to turn the page to February. Now it is almost time. I am not really sure what makes February such a great month. Of course, for the romantics, there is Valentine’s Day, with date nights, flowers and candy.

Coyotes
The other morning I was serenaded in to work by a chorus of yipping coyotes. The echo deep in the woods resounded up to our barnyard, sending a corresponding chill down my back and simultaneously up my scalp. It totally creeped me out. They sounded closer than was comfortable. When they all get going, and I don’t know how many “all” is, (nor do I want to know) they sound like babies crying. I envision them stalking me.
