Elaine Ann Klitz, 91, passed away on Monday, Sept. 16, 2024, at Markesan Resident Home. Elaine was born on Jan. 17, 1933, in Portage, the daughter of William and Viola (Baumann) Meyer. She grew up in Shawano and graduated from Shawano High School. She was united in marriage to Donald Klitz on July 14, 1951, at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. The couple lived in Greendale for 40 years where Elaine worked at St.
Karen L. Peterman
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Karen Peterman, 54, of Menasha, a devoted wife, loving sister, true friend and compassionate nurse. Karen passed away on Sept. 18, 2024, from heart failure. A memorial service to celebrate Karen’s life will be held on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2024, at noon at Brettschneider-Trettin-Nickel Funeral Chapel in Appleton.
Linda Louann (Busch) Rowell
Linda Louann (Busch) Rowell, 75, went peacefully to eternal life with Christ on Sept. 19, 2024. Linda was born at Shawano Hospital on May 24, 1949. She was baptized into faith and attended grade school at St. Paul Lutheran School in Bonduel and graduated from Bonduel High School in 1967. Barry Knapp
Barry J. Knapp, 53, of the Town of Pella, passed away Monday evening, Sept. 16, 2024, at the ThedaCare Medical Center in Neenah. Barry Jon Knapp was born on Jan. 22, 1971, in Appleton as the son of Alfred “Al” and Sally (Grimm) Knapp. Barry was born with special needs and attended Plamann School in Appleton until his early 20s.
Wade Grenke
Wade Grenke, 58, Oconto Falls, passed away Thursday, Sept. 5, 2024. He was born May 15, 1966, to Arlin and Georgia (Konitzer) Grenke. Wade grew up in Oconto Falls with his family, graduating from OFHS before obtaining his nursing assistant certificate from NWTC and pledging his service to our country for five years in the U.S.
Roy H. Schaubel
Roy H. Schaubel, age 70, of Lakewood, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2024. Roy was born on May 1, 1954, to the late Jack H. and Anna (Gwost) Schaubel. He was a graduate of Milwaukee Bay View High School, class of 1972. For most of his working life, he was employed with GE Medical Services in the Milwaukee area.

Child sex assault trial to proceed
An Oconto County judge Sept. 20 denied a defense motion to dismiss charges against an Oconto man accused of child sex assault, but the judge did confirm dismissal of three charges that he had dismissed before an April 2022 trial ended in a mistrial. David SanRoman, 48, Oconto, is scheduled to stand trial Oct. 30-31 on charges of first-degree sexual assault of a child under age 13, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Jan.
