Chamber board members chosen for 2025

The Shawano Country Chamber of Commerce recently named new board members and officers for 2025. Green Bay man charged in reservation death
A Shawano woman and two men were recently indicted in federal court in separate cases on involuntary manslaughter and drug offenses. According to court records, Desmond L. Waukau Jr., 21, allegedly caused the death of a male passenger in a BMW sedan Waukau was driving May 19 on the Menominee Reservation.

Suring basketball to host military night
Suring High School will hold its military night at the Suring vs. Gillett boys basketball game Jan. 16. There will be a spaghetti dinner at 5 p.m. Tickets are $7 per person; veterans eat for free. There will also be bucket raffles, 50/50 raffles and more during the evening to benefit Old Glory Honor Flight’s Freedom to Liberty flight. Shirts are available to order online by Jan.

Strong second half lifts Gillett over Florence
Dec, 30 Gillett 68, Florence 59 A strong second half by Gillett propelled them to a 62-59 win over Florence. Trailing 34-31 at halftime, the Tigers outscored their guests by 12 points in the second half to secure the win. Jesse DeBauch led all scorers with 29 points, including 11-of-13 from the free throw line. Ryan Pensis added 14 points.
