Write-in challenger declares in District 6

A write-in candidate has registered to run against District 6 Shawano County Supervisor Randy Young in Tuesday’s election. County Board adopts parks plan
The Shawano County Board gave a unanimous endorsement Wednesday to a new five-year outdoor recreation plan. The plan, which was developed by the East Central Regional Planning Commission through a grant, maps out multiple priorities for the county park system and suggests some options that could be implemented. Bonduel High honors winter sports teams
Bonduel High School athletes, coaches and parents gathered Tuesday night at Bonduel High School to say goodbyes to senior athletes and celebrate the triumphs of the winter sports season. Weight training part of Strong Bones program
Strong Bones classes will be held from 2-3 p.m. Monday and Wednesday from April 7 to July 7 at Bayside Senior Living, 237 Cook Ave., Oconto. A required assessment will take place by appointment from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. March 28. The program is a twice-weekly exercise program that includes light weight training, flexibility, balance activities and nutrition education.

Damp receives award from state FFA Alumni
Virginia “Virgie” Damp, of Oconto Falls, received the Wisconsin FFA Alumni Association Outstanding Achievement Award at the 34th State FFA Alumni Convention recently held in Elkhart Lake. Robert Konitzer
Robert Konitzer, 70, Lena, died Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at a Green Bay hospital from complications of surgery. He was born Oct. 18, 1943, in Oconto Falls to George and Irene (VanHaren) Konitzer. Robert grew up in rural Oconto Falls, where he attended St. Anthony Catholic School and Oconto Falls High School, graduating in 1962.
