The Shawano County Board voted unanimously Wednesday to name the newly renovated detective offices in the county courthouse after Supervisor Arlyn Tober, who was first elected to the board in 1974. Tober said the honor took him completely by surprise. “Usually these honors don’t come until you’re dead,” he said. Adolph F. “Al” Krueger, 93, formerly of Shawano, passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, where he had been a resident for the past four years. Adolph was born Sept. 25, 1920, in Pulcifer, a son of the late Julius and Adelaide (Krueger) Krueger. He attended country schools in Green Valley. Following school, he drove truck and, on July 18, 1944, was drafted into the United States Army.
