Ginny and Joel O’Harrow will host their fourth annual corn roast for Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin at their rural Oconto Falls home Sunday.

Richard H. “Dick” Jenquine, 66, Cleveland, passed away unexpectedly on Friday evening, Aug. 1, 2014, at his home. He was born on July 15, 1948, in Marinette to Harold and Esther (VandenBush) Jenquine. Dick worked for the Kohler Company for 41 years until his retirement in 2013. He took great pride in the appearance of his property, always taking the extra time to keep it looking good.

Angeline “Angie” Myrtle Ruege, 93, Suring, passed away, with her family by her side, on Wednesday, July 30, 2014. She had accepted the Lord’s hand. Angie was born in Maple Valley on Dec. 16, 1920, to the late Hans P. and Marie (Skougard) Hansen. She was born and raised on the family homestead and resided there her entire life. Angie graduated from Suring High School. On Sept. 7, 1940, she married Alfred Ruege.

Harry H. Deering, 78, formerly of Pulcifer, passed away on Sunday evening, July 27, 2014, at Maple Lane Health Care Center in Shawano. Harry was born on Jan. 5, 1936, in the town of Underhill, Oconto County, a son of the late Edward and Adelia (Karstedt) Deering. He attended the Gillett schools and later entered the United States Army, serving his country from April 8, 1954, until Feb. 11, 1956.

Brad Cox, 27, Abrams, died suddenly Sunday night, Aug. 3, 2014, as the result of being struck by lightning. He was born Feb. 27, 1987, in Oconto Falls to Robert and Dawn (Ashton-Schuessler) Cox. Brad grew up in Oconto Falls where he attended public schools and worked at the local Burger King. He enjoyed music, animals and poetry, especially Edgar Allan Poe.

July 31 Deputies logged 25 incidents, including the following: Accident - Authorities investigated an apparent accident on U.S. Highway 41 and Brookside Road, Abrams.

A 19-year-old man from Gillett was taken into custody for battery, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after a disturbance July 12 in an alley at 157 N. Main St. A woman sustained minor injuries in the incident. Damage to a mailbox was reported July 14 at Sunrise Court. Police investigated an alleged sex offense July 14 on North Chestnut Avenue. An apartment fire caused smoke to fill the building July 16 at 527 N.

Proceedings from Aug. 1 A waiver preliminary hearing was held for Lindy L. Walker, 27, Marinette, on two misdemeanor drug charges and a felony charge of possession of narcotic drugs May 15 in Lena. A $2,500 cash bond continues. An arraignment is Aug 14. A waiver preliminary hearing was held for Brandon L. Mcnamer, 20, Oconto Falls, on charges of exposing a child to harmful material April 28 in the town of Oconto Falls.
