In honor of the 2015 Suring centennial celebration, Rhoda Bartz Ebersole has compiled a history of Suring titled “Seasons in Time.” Beginning the yearlong celebration is the Suring Centennial Kickoff Breakfast from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 18, at Red Maple Golf Course. Gloria A. Schmidt, of Gillett, 81, died Dec. 30, 2014, surrounded by her family. She was born on April 12, 1933, to the late Elden Kohn and Lucille (Zahn) Kohn. Spencer C. Malueg, 70, of Suring passed away at home with his family by his side on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2015, following a short illness with cancer. He was born Feb. 24, 1944, to the late Charles and Rose (Otradovec) Malueg. Spencer was self-employed as a drywall installer and finisher.
