Olga Brener Intermediate School Fourth-graders at Olga Brener will have a chance to try snowshoeing at Navarino Nature Center. Tim Ewing, naturalist at Navarino Nature Center, starts the day with a history and explanation of snowshoes. He then leads the students on an excursion through the trails of the nature center, with races across the bogs and a trip to the beaver lodge.

Felony OWI A Shawano woman has been charged with a felony count of operating while intoxicated after being pulled over early Monday for driving a vehicle with an expired registration. Odaya N. Nowell, 35, was on probation at the time of the incident and prohibited from consuming alcohol, according to the criminal complaint.

Crossroads Community Theatre will present its fourth annual murder mystery dinner theater event, “Talk About a Murder,” next month at the WOWSpace, 114 Vinal St., Wittenberg. The play, written by Lee Mueller and directed by Miriam Nelson, will be presented Feb. 20, 21, 27 and 28. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.

Shawano Police Department Jan. 27 Police logged 24 incidents, including the following: Suspicious — Police responded to a suspicious person complaint at Walmart, 1244 E. Green Bay St. Suspicious — Police responded to a complaint of a suspicious juvenile in the 200 block of South Washington Street. It turned out to be a child who missed his school bus.

The Rev. Dennis N. Nelson has returned as pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, Tigerton. Nelson served the church from 1981-1993. After leaving Tigerton, he served churches in Gillett, Marshfield, Fairwater, Manawa, Ogdensburg and Menasha. He returned to Zion, effective Jan. 1. Nelson is a 1981 graduate of Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota. He also has a master’s degree in guidance and counseling from the University of Wisconsin-Stout.
