The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources encourages the public to explore Wisconsin with a Natural Resources Foundation field trip. Pulaski softball wins 2 at tournament
April 5 Pulaski 6, Baraboo 4 Pulaski went 2-0 with a pair of wins at the D.C. Everest Tournament. The Red Raiders closed out the tournament with a 6-4 win over Baraboo. Pulaski girls win relay event at River Falls
April 5 Pulaski’s girls placed sixth with 40 points and the boys were 13th with 12 points at the Midwest Indoor Championship at UW-River Falls. The girls team of Addison Krueger, Lily Urben, Faye Brunke and Olivia Sprangers won the 4x200-meter relay in 1:48:77, fewer than three seconds faster than Osseo. Sprangers earned a second-place finish in the 60-meter dash in 7.92.

Pulaski soccer team wins in shutout
April 4 Pulaski 2, Marshfield 0 A scoreless first half turned in favor of Pulaski as the Red Raiders defeated Marshfield 2-0 in their season opener. Emmah Hyer and Anya Hasser each scored for Pulaski.

Panthers, Red Raiders lose softball season openers
April 3 Luxemburg-Casco 2, Oconto Falls 1 After postponements of games against Coleman and Oconto, the Oconto Falls girls softball team opened its season at Luxemburg-Casco High School. The Panthers lost 2-1. Bay Port 5, Pulaski 3 Pulaski’s 2025 season opened with a Fox River Classic Conference loss to Bay Port. The score was 5-3.

Bahr pleads not guilty to 100 crimes
Tracy Bahr waived his right to have a preliminary hearing April 3, one week after his attorney called for one to take place and asked for his client to be present in the court hearing, and pleaded not guilty to 100 different charges. Without critical legal protections, unpaid municipal citations can lead to warrants, arrests and incarceration. There is no right to counsel in Wisconsin’s municipal courts, meaning people unable to afford an attorney face court alone, compounding the cycle of poverty and punishment.

Recreation center project $1M over budget
Plans for renovating and adding to the Shawano Recreation Center have gone up sharply in price, according to an announcement from Matt Hendricks. The parks and recreation director presented his findings at the Shawano Parks and Recreation Commission meeting April 2. Last year, the city of Shawano received a Flexible Facilities Program grant for $4.25 million from the state for the first phase of renovations.
