Seegmiller, Spice pace teams at Shamrock Heights
May 7 Manawa Invitational Wittenberg-Birnamwood’s George Seegmiller and Lena’s Mason Spice each carded an 85 for the third-best score at Shamrock Heights Golf Course in Freedom. “I was most pleased by George being able to bounce back from arguably his worst round in a number of years,” Chargers coach Chris Bartletti said. As a team, Lena placed second with 358; Amherst won with a 346.

Shawano soccer team collects another tie
May 6 Shawano 2, Menasha 2 For the second time this season, Shawano’s girls soccer team saw a game end in a tie, this time a 2-2 score at home against Menasha. The Hawks are now 0-4-1 in the Bay Conference and 2-7-2 overall. Pulaski 2, De Pere 1 Estella Vieaux and Anya Hasser each scored a goal in Pulaski’s 2-1 win over De Pere. The Red Raiders improved to 2-1 in the Fox River Classic Conference and 9-3 overall.

Pulaski golfers place fifth
May 9 Fox River Classic Conference Mini-Meet #3 Pulaski golfers placed fifth among 10 teams at the Brown County Golf Course. The Red Raiders carded a 170. Leading the way was Dixon Holewinski with 38, tied for the second-best score on the course. Bradin Schultz was right behind him with 39, with Brady Hayward right behind him with 40. Ethan Berger rounded out the scoring with 53. Christin Weinberger also carded a 57.

Five score for Pulaski in lacrosse loss
May 5 Oneida Nation 14, Pulaski 5 Pulaski spread the scoring around, but it wasn’t enough as Oneida Nation won the boys lacrosse game 14-5. Scoring for Pulaski were Brady Huss, Everett Just, Nikolas Sanders, Brody Hronek and Cody Delabrau. Goaltender Ben Schroeder collected 25 saves against 39 shots on goal. Pulaski is now 0-5 in the Bay Valley Conference. The win was the first conference victory for the Thunderhawks.

Springborn wins sport modifieds feature race
The new clay was put on the Shawano Speedway just days before the May 10 races, and it appears to have held up well. New London’s Tanner Janke started second but took the checkered flag in the modified feature race.

Dairyland League Baseball
May 11 Bonduel 3, Marinette 1 Both teams were strong on the hill on May 11, but the Bonduel Broncos defeated Marinette Redbirds 3-1 in Dairyland League Baseball action. Chase Reinke started the game for Bonduel Broncos and recorded 27 outs. Reinke struck out 10 batters on the day.

Bonduel softball team wins DH
May 10 Bonduel 2, Marshall 1 Bonduel 16, Howards Grove 1 Bonduel captured a pair of wins at the Chilton Invite, beating Marshall 2-1 and Howards Grove 16-1. In the first game, Bonduel overcame striking out 19 times to pull off a 2-1 win over Marshall, currently ranked No.

Panthers, Chargers win baseball doubleheaders
May 10 Oconto Falls 11, Clintonville 1 Oconto Falls 14, Clintonville 0 The Panthers won both ends of a doubleheader, 11-1 and 14-0. In the first game, Chase Carriveau hit 3-for-4 with three runs scored and two RBIs. Wyatt Laughrin was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a pair of RBIs, while Carter Heroux hit 2-for-3 with an RBI. Heroux was the winning pitcher.

Shawano’s boys, girls win Bay Conference Quad
May 10 Myrhum Invitational Bonduel was among nearly 50 schools with competitors at Arrowhead Union High School in Waukesha County. Mariah Wondra placed sixth in the 3,200-meter run and seventh in the 1,600-meter run. May 9 DeMerit Invite Shawano’s girls placed seventh and the boys ninth at Bay Port.
