Jordan Feemster was sentenced to eight years in prison Aug. 25 for the attack on his then-girlfriend in May 2024.

A coalition of sportsman’s groups in Oconto County is working together toward a common goal.

That goal? To introduce children to the outdoors in a county that provides plenty of opportunities to do just that.

“Hey, do you wanna go to Farm Progress Days?” says he.

Inside murmuring. Ah, not really.

After a moment’s hesitation, I brightly suggested, “Can we take the side-by-side?”

I figured if I was going to be forced to walk around acres of uneven territory (harvested alfalfa fields), I’d have some fun getting there.

“Sure.”

The cool snap in the air and subtle sights and sounds of fading summer mean my favorite time of year is approaching.

Chances are that if you love hunting as much as me, it’s your favorite season, too.

The Oconto County Sportsmen’s Alliance has plans to install a handicap-accessible fishing pier at Underhill Park on the Oconto River.

The project is being led by Bruce Kitzman, in collaboration with the Town of Underhill.

Lakes Country Public Library will hold a special ribbon-cutting ceremony at 3 p.m. Sept. 17 to celebrate the installation of solar panels, the final step in the library’s three-year expansion/renovation project.

On hand to give a presentation and answer questions will be Jordan Kaiser from Northwind Solar, Amherst.

Oconto Falls senior Kylie Thompson tied for third with a 52, as the Panther golfers placed second among three teams.

Denmark won the meet with a 200, followed by Oconto Falls with 220 and Waupaca with 282.

Joining Thompson were junior Chloe Anastasopoulus with a 54, senior Addy Kluth with a 56 and senior Anna Burd with a 58.

Wausau West

Host Wausau West defeated Pulaski 4-3 and shut out Shawano 7-0.

Pulaski defeated Eau Claire North 4-3, while the Hawks lost 4-3 to Stevens Point.

Randy M. Cormier, 71, Little Suamico, passed away Aug. 22, 2025, losing his battle with many medical conditions.

He was born on July 16, 1954. He attended Ashwaubenon High School and began his career working on stock cars at various speedways.
