Bonduel girls win at Gillett/Suring Invite

April 23 Gillett/Suring Invite Bonduel’s girls took home top honors with 161 points and the boys were second with 120 points at the Gillett/Suring Invite. Shawano boys, girls dominate home track meet
April 25 Ryan Jozwiak Memorial Shawano’s boys and girls track and field teams both took first place in a home meet against Bonduel and Menasha. Grace Chelberg, Adalyn Barkley, Andon Chelberg and Grace Chelberg teamed up to take first in the coed 4x400 relay.

Chargers’ all-around game leads to win over Shiocton
April 25 Bonduel 8, Menominee Indian 0 Bonduel shut out Menominee Indian 8-0. Hailee Thompson had three hits, including two doubles. Tatum Sporisky pitched a complete game. Tigerton 5, Tri-County 3 Tri-County opened with a 1-0 lead after the first half inning against Tigerton, but that would be their only lead of the game. Tigerton gained the lead 2-1 with a pair of runs in the bottom of the inning.

Marion shuts out Bowler, Gresham beats Tigerton
April 25 Fox Valley Lutheran 3, Oconto Falls 1 Fox Valley Lutheran 6, Oconto Falls 3 Oconto Falls lost both ends of doubleheader against Fox Valley Lutheran. In game one, the Panthers fell 3-1, and in game two, the team lost 6-3. Shawano, Pulaski lose on tennis courts
April 25 West De Pere 6, Shawano 1 Shawano’s No. 1 doubles team of Tristan Sheldon and George Buerman improved to 7-1 and are in the hunt for a conference championship after defeating their West De Pere opponents 6-4, 6-2. Pulaski girls score 3 against Neenah
April 25 Boys lacrosse Wausau West 26, Pulaski 0 The Wausau Wild shut out Pulaski 26-0 after jumping out to a 12-0 first period lead. It will take an army to pass referendum
Shawano School District officials are fine-tuning their efforts as they get ready to lob another referendum to voters in November after the last one sputtered out before the finish line with just a 75-vote margin between the let’s-do-its and the not-on-my-tax-bills. With about a month since the last election, questions have been asked to the voters, the Shawano School Board and other interested parties about what went wrong.

To the editor: Prior to the pandemic, I recall a thriving economy, an abundance of oil that enabled the U.S. to provide for other countries along with much lower gas prices for all of us, no wars, respect for the laws of our country, and not being told we have to buy electric vehicles in the future, to name a few.

Reading curriculum not affected by Act 20
The Wittenberg-Birnamwood School District will not need to abruptly change its reading curriculum to comply with Wisconsin Act 20 asx originally thought.
