Hillside Assembly to recycle electronics, wash cars

Hillside Assembly Royal Rangers Boys’ Ministry is teaming with B3 Recycling Solutions of De Pere for an electronics recycling day and car wash from 9 a.m. to noon May 11 at the church, 5890 State Highway 22, Gillett. Most items are free to recycle. There is a small fee for monitors, televisions, refrigerators, freezers, dehumidifiers and air conditioning units.

Anthony “Tony” Janiak, 77, Oconto Falls, died Wednesday morning, April 24, 2024. at home. He was born July 24, 1946, in West Allis to Henry “Fritz” and Joyce (Newstrom) Janiak. The family lived in Amberg before moving to Abrams where Tony attended Oconto Falls public schools, graduating with the class of 1964. Dennis M. Maas, age 77, of Mountain, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024. Dennis was born Jan. 23, 1947, to the late Norbert and Gertrude (Jezeski) Maas. He loved riding his UTV. Dennis is survived by son, David Maas; two grandchildren, Connor and Carley; brother, Duane (Delight) Maas; sister-in-law, Sherry Maas.
Wittenberg-Birnamwood scores 23 in win over Rosholt
Menominee Indian 15, Tigerton 5 Menominee Indian won its first game of the year, a 15-5 non-conference victory over Tigerton. Wittenberg-Birnamwood 23, Rosholt 6 Wittenberg-Birnamwood used a 14-run fourth inning to run away with a 23-6 win over Rosholt. Jayda Moenke hit 3-for-4 including a home run and five RBIs. Kendall Lex hit 2-for-2 with a pair of RBIs. Hitting 2-for-3 were Brieleigh Ladika and Camryn Miller.

Xavier has little difficulty in defeating Shawano
Xavier 6, Shawano 1 Evan Anderson, playing at No. 4 singles, served up Shawano’s only win in a 6-1 loss to Xavier. Anderson defeated Hunter Thiel 6-0, 6-2. Andrew VanDenHeuvel, Ben Langlois and Cristian Hernandez lost in singles matches for the Hawks. Shawano takes fifth at conference meet
April 23 Bay Conference Mini-Meet #3 Shawano placed fifth with 194 strokes at the Bay Conference Mini-Meet in Seymour. Scoring for the Hawks were Blake Knope with 44, Tristan Miller with 45, Cooper Montour with 50 and Duane Gristeau-Blanche with 55. Jakob Stuhr carded a 59.

Bonduel golfers dominate at CWC Meet
April 22 CWC Meet Bonduel’s Colin Margelofsky secured the medalist position and the Bears had the top three golfers at the CWC Conference Meet at Glacier Woods Golf Club. Bonduel crushes Iola
April 22 Bonduel 13, Iola-Scandinavia 2 Bonduel slugged out 10 hits and put pressure on the Iola defense all game long in a 13-2 win in five innings.
