Gillett/Suring Invite
Bonduel’s girls took home top honors with 161 points and the boys were second with 120 points at the Gillett/Suring Invite.
The girls relay teams dominated with a first in the 4x800 (Ashlyn Kurey, Cierra Schnell, Teagan Engel, Mariah Wondra), a second in the 4x100 (Anna Beaumier, Josie Anvelink, Olivia Giese and Sophie Smith) a first in the 4x200 (Paige Niquette, Audrey Weier, Addison Raymakers and Schnell) and third in the 4x400 (Kurey, Raymakers, Smith and Hailey Berg).
Taking open event double first-place finishes were Kurey in the triple jump and 400-meter dash, Niquette in the 100- and 200-meter dashes, and Wondra in the 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs.
Other athletes in the medals included Anvelink taking second in shot put, Weier taking third in high jump, Niquette taking second and Schnell taking third in long jump, Giese taking third in 100-meter hurdles, Schnell taking third in 300-meter hurdles and Engel taking second in the 3.,200-meter run.
The boys relay teams did equally well. The 4x800 took second place (Ben O’Brien, Oliver Chitwood, Griffin Uelmen and Gage Anderson), the 4x200 took first (Owen Springborn, Gage Scholl, Malachi Gray and Tristin Bierhals), the 4x400 took first (Mason Ballwahn, Uelmen, Sam Roberts and Ryan Westrich), and the 4x100 took third (Jayden Popp, Isaac Seefeldt, Gray and Randy Welch).
Roberts took first in both the long and triple jump, Westrich took first in discus and third in shot put, O’Brien took first in the 1,600-meter run and second in the 3,200-meter run. Uelmen took a second-place medal in the high jump.
Medford Meet
Faith Resch led the Wittenberg-Birnamwood track and field with several first-place showings a the 11-team Medford Meet.
Resch won the 100-meter hurdles, the 300-meter hurdles, the high jump and the triple jump.
The 4x400- and 4x800-meter relay teams also won first place.
Ava Brei placed third in the 200-meter dash.
The best finish for the boys was Landen Schmidt’s second place in the discus.

Suring athletes captured 16 first-place finishes at a home triangular against Coleman and Oneida.
