Shawano tops Seymour in extra innings

Shawano and Seymour split a doubleheader in Bay Conference baseball action Tuesday. Chase Henning’s two-run single in the top of the 10th inning gave the Hawks (4-10, 4-7 Bay) a 5-4 win in the second game. Henning was 3 for 5 with 4 RBIs. Jaryd Wilber was 3 for 4. Jack Lacy earned the win, giving up one earned run and three hits in 2 1/3 innings. He walked one batter and did not record a strikeout. Casey Jefson took the loss. He worked four innings, struck out six, walked one and gave up two earned runs on five hits. Jefson was 3 for 3 at the plate, and Sean Palubicki was 2 for 5 with 3 RBIs. Seymour won the first game, 5-4. Zach Sousek, Cody Urban and Taylor Prey each had two hits for the Hawks. Grant Wainio took the loss, giving up three earned runs on three hits. He recorded two strikeouts and three walks in three innings of work. Reed Blake went six innings to claim the win. He struck out three, walked two and gave up seven hits. Sean Palubicki was 1 for 3 with 2 RBIs for the Thunder.
