Selma E. Buettner

Selma E. Buettner, 95, of Gresham, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2014. Born on June 26, 1918, in Embarrass, she was the daughter of the late William and Louise (Koeller) Hildebrandt. On March 31, 1939, Selma was united in marriage to Clifford Buettner. The couple made their home and raised their family in the Gresham area. Selma was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Gresham, where she was active with the Ladies Aid. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers. Selma is survived by a daughter, Valerie (Daniel) Willard, of Appleton; two sons, Wayne (Sandy) Buettner, of Gresham, and Robert (Sheryl) Buettner, of Gresham; a daughter-in-law, Michelle Buettner, of Shawano; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Selma is further survived by a brother, Ray Hildebrandt, of Bonduel; a sister, Leila (Wilford) Little, of Gresham; and nieces and nephews, including three special nieces, Sharon Splitt, of Chicago; Patsy Gruetzmacher, of Shawano, and Jean Tetting, of Shawano. Selma was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford, on March 29, 1997; two sons, Kurt and Gary; a grandson, Randy; her parents; three sisters, Dorothy Seering, Jeanette Christ and Shirley Hildebrandt; and four brothers, Lawrence, Elmer, Clarence and Carl Hildebrandt. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Gresham with the Rev. John C. Eyer officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Rest Cemetery, town of Herman. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
