Roger Ray Lemberg, 67, of the town of Wescott, passed away Monday, April 28, 2014, in Green Bay. Born on July 30, 1946, in the town of Hartland, he was the son of the late Leonard and Viola (Hoefs) Lemberg.
Roger grew up in the Bonduel area and graduated from Bonduel High School. After graduating he enlisted with the United States Army and served his country during the Vietnam War for more than six years. Roger worked for many businesses in the area, including the canning factory as a maintenance foreman and recently as a truck driver for Schneider National. When not working, Roger enjoyed cutting wood and being outdoors. He also enjoyed collecting Ford tractors, country music and his dog, Waylon. On June 1, 1990, he was united in marriage to Judy (Smith) Olson in Little Suamico. Roger was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Roger is survived by his wife, Judy; four children, Richard (Nancy) Lemberg, of Pulaski, Jim (Joan) Lemberg, of Neenah, David Lemberg, of South Dakota, and Lanie Lemberg, of South Dakota; a stepson, James Smith; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Phyllis Gruel, of Bonduel; a stepbrother, Delmar (Rose Ann) Zernicke, of Bonduel; a stepsister, Ellen (Gene) Mehlberg, of Caroline; four sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Roger was preceded in death by a daughter in infancy and his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 2, 2014, at the Swedberg-Wendt Funeral Home in Bonduel with the Rev. Loretta Waegli officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Bonduel American Legion Post 217 at the funeral home following the service. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. and on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
