Ernest F. Berthold

Ernest Frank Berthold, 90, died on Jan. 6, 2022, in St. Croix Falls at the Divine Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility. He was born in Milwaukee on Feb. 13, 1931. He graduated from Messmer High School in 1949. During the Korean conflict, he was a member of the 504th Air Force Band as a featured accordionist and clarinet player. He was stationed at Truax Field in Madison. He married Julie Butler on Nov. 15, 1952.

Fred Luke Zimmer, 74, of Legend Lake, passed away on Friday, Dec. 31, 2021, with his loving wife, Amy, by his side. Fred was born in Cook County Illinois on July 2, 1947, to the late Bernhardt C. and June Blossom Lolita (Stoike) Zimmer. Roger Louis Flaig, 81, Green Bay, passed away Monday, Jan. 3, 2022. He was born on March 1, 1940, in the Town of Belle Plaine to Edward and Elizabeth (Kleman) Flaig. His mother passed at an early age and Edward remarried Emily Weller. After graduating from Shawano High School, Roger joined the U.S. Army Reserves, serving from November 1959 to 1965, achieving the rank of staff sergeant. Leonard A. Schroeder
Leonard Arthur Schroeder, 83, of Underhill, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2021, with his great nephews, Kevin and Keith, by his side. Leonard was born and raised on the family farm, Pleasant View Farm, on Oct. 1, 1938, to the late Henry and Olga (Marcheske) Schroeder. He was baptized on Oct. 12, 1938, and confirmed on June 1, 1952, at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Phyllis Smith
Phyllis Smith, 93, of Green Bay, passed away on Dec. 24, 2021, at Tender Hearts Assisted Living in Howard. Phyllis Leona Shallow was born on June 3, 1928, in the Township of Little River. She was the second of 15 children of Oliver and Gladys (Brabant) Shallow Sr. of Lena. Phyllis graduated from Lena High School in 1945. She was employed at the Lena branch of the Suring State Bank, then transferred to the Suring Bank, where she met Joseph P.
