Bonduel falls to Shiocton Bonduel lost to Shiocton 3-2 in the first round of the New London tournament Thursday. Bonduel took a short-lived 1-0 lead in the fourth, but Shiocton tied the game on a balk by Bonduel pitcher Connor Rosin in the bottom of the inning. Medical center breaks ground
ThedaCare skipped the usual golden shovels at the groundbreaking Thursday for the new ThedaCare Medical Center-Shawano. Instead, the area’s biggest health care provider used child power to move the first mounds of dirt on what Shawano Medical Center CEO Dorothy Erdmann described as “one-stop shopping” for medical needs. Harassment claim filed against airport manager
A Wescott property owner who has tangled in the past with Shawano City-County Airport officials over the airport fence has filed a harassment claim against the airport manager. Robert Mueller filed a court petition Tuesday seeking a temporary restraining order and/or injunction against Clarence Schampers.

Taher supporters turn in petition
The recent replacement of Taher Inc. as Shawano School District’s food service provider has given some employees and parents volcano-grade indigestion. Supporters of the food service company, which is based in Minnetonka, Minn., packed the board room at Wednesday’s School Board meeting and presented board members with copies of an online petition started July 4.

Rocky’s fight
Rocky DeLorme was in great physical shape when he made his mark on the wrestling mat and in the mixed martial arts ring. That’s what made his fight against cancer so hard to watch for those closest to him. Sixteen months ago, while DeLorme was attending Arizona State University to study molecular biology, he found a lump on his side.
