Tiger Chase, a 5K run/walk sponsored by the Gillett PTO, will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 10, at the Gillett High School track. The cost is $10 for children in fifth grade or younger and $15 for individuals in sixth grade and older. Kohls 6th at Oshkosh The Gillett Secondary School girls track and field team tied for 31st at the 34-team Oshkosh High School Invitational on April 1 at the Kolf Center in Oshkosh. The Tigers scored 3 points. Waukesha Catholic Memorial won the meet with 48 points. Taylor Kohls scored all the team’s points with a sixth-place finish in the shot put. She threw 34 feet, 2 1/2 inches.

The Oconto Falls High School girls and boys track and field teams won a four-team indoor meet April 1 at OFHS. The Panthers girls scored 91.5 points, followed by Coleman (25.5) and Algoma (21). The OFHS boys scored 56.5 points to take first. Crivitz (42) was second, followed by Coleman (23.5). The girls won 11 of 14 events, including all three relays. Sophomore Bailey Wolf won two events, taking the 1,600-meter run in 5 minutes, 50.8 seconds.

The Gillett City Council on Thursday delayed its plan to seek funding for a trailhead facility at the base of the Nicolet Trail, deciding to wait a year to have a better handle on its design, cost and long-term upkeep.
