As summer approaches, I daydream of all the adventure it will bring. Fishing. Kayaking. Hiking. There are countless ways to enjoy the season, but my favorite is birdwatching, especially the beloved ruby-throated hummingbird. Was there ever a bird so fun to watch? I sit on my deck and observe them as they hum past my ear, zipping toward the feeders. My heart fills as they dodge, dart and dash all around me displaying their unique antics.

I’ve been deeply involved in the library business since 2017. At a November town meeting, I respectfully asked the board if anything could be done about the $45,000 bill we owed to Oconto County for library services.

Patricia Ann “Pat” Murphy, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away on April 13, 2024, in De Pere at the age of 86. Pat was born in Shawano on Aug. 1, 1937, to the late Milton and Clara (Norton) Krueger. Pat graduated from Shawano High School and later studied hospitality management at Fox Valley Technical College. Pat and her first husband, Maynard Bahr, raised five wonderful children together.

Lois A. Tuschy, 93, of Suring, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 11, 2024. Lois was born on July 8, 1930, in Breed to the late Erick and Hilda (Hein) Schuettpelz. She attended Logan Grade School and graduated from Mountain High School with the class of 1948, the last graduating class. On May 17, 1952, Lois married Richard Tuschy. In 1973, Lois began working at Nu-Line and remained there for 13 years.
