April 17-18 Sheboygan North Invitational Pulaski golfers scored a 333 in Round 1 and a 339 in Round 2 for a 672 total in the Sheboygan North Invitational. Waukesha North won the 48-team event, scoring a 304 on the first day and a 300 on the second for a total of 604. Waukesha North’s AJ Anderson was the medalist with a 142. Sophomore Brady Howard led Pulaski golfers with a 152.

April 18 Pulaski 8, Shawano 0 Veronica Decker scored six goals as Pulaski shut out Shawano 8-0 in Shawano. Josie Steeno and Isabella Logue scored the other two goals for the Red Raiders. Pulaski jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first half and scored another five goals after the break. It was the third game in a week for the Hawks. Shawano goalie Brynlie Boyles had 24 saves.

Capt. Scott Alwin has the distinction of being the pilot awarded the most Combat Air Medals out of any branch of the U.S. Armed Services. Official records show 136, while his battalion records indicate that number is 207. The eldest son out of 16 siblings, Alwin started out his service in the U.S. Air Force, but the continued conflict in Vietnam prompted him to enlist in the U.S. Army to fly helicopters.

April 18 Pulaski’s boys lacrosse team came close to it first win but came up just short, losing to Notre Dame 11-10. The Red Raiders fell to 0-3 in the Fox River Classic Conference and 0-5 overall. Pulaski’s girls also played Notre Dame, losing 17-4. The girls are 0-2 in conference and overall.

Mary Suzanne “Suzie” Habeck-Schafelke, age 84, passed away on April 17, 2024. Suzie had a strong faith and was truly excited to reunite with her son, Bobby, and her daughter, Cindy, in heaven. Suzie was born on Sept. 15, 1939, in Milwaukee to the late Lloyd and Madge (Linquist) Jung. Suzie worked a rural postal route for the post office for 20 years and was proud to be the first female carrier in Shawano County. On Sept.
