With the purchase of 202 and 208 N. Washington St. (at the corner of North Washington and West Fifth streets), the city of Shawano is working toward creating more parking downtown.
Budget timelines posed a challenge for the city.
By the time the neighboring property use was determined, the city was outside its time frame for the 2024 budget.
This means the city will will need to wait until 2025 to be able fully construct the parking lot.
However, it is the city’s plan to grade and gravel that space this summer to allow for additional overflow parking as soon as possible.
