Not everyone can easily become a mother

“As American as motherhood and apple pie” is a simile meant to represent things Americans consider sacrosanct. In recent years, the very act of becoming a mother has given birth to an impassioned national conversation. No, I’m not going there, but I was there in 1974. You may not agree with my decision, but it was my decision to make. To begin, I had to do some serious doing to become a mother.

Marjorie A. Keshemberg, 91, of Kelly Lake, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2024. Marge was born on July 21, 1932, to the late Henry and Lillian (Moegenburg) Grosser. She was raised in Cedarburg and graduated from Cedarburg High School in 1950. In the early 1950s, Marge married Merton Asp, and the couple raised three children, David, Rick and Ron.
