The Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin has a deep respect for cultural traditions and strives to ensure they continue for future generations.

Candace Leaman embodies that reverence for cultural traditions.

It wasn’t planned to do an outer space melodrama at Pulaski High School around the same time as the historic Artemis II space mission and the new science fiction film “Project Hail Mary,” but those two things are helping to entice the community to see “Lost in Space and the Mortgage Due,” being performed for one weekend only.

Aimee Elkins, 4‑H educator in Oconto County with the University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Extension, has been awarded the Communicator Award for her Oconto County Teen Court promotional package, as well as specialty awards for Winter Camp East Excellence in Teamwork and Excellence in Camping by the Wisconsin Association of Extension 4‑H Youth Development Professionals through its annual statewide recognition program.

SHAWANO: Arbor Day Celebration, 9 a.m., Memorial Park, 901 S. Lincoln St.

OCONTO: Storytime, 10:30 a.m., Farnsworth Public Library, 715 Main St. Story and crafts for preschool children. A caregiver must stay with the child.

Saturday, April 18

Menominee Nation 4, Gresham 2

The Eagles scored twice in the fourth inning to break a 2-2 tie and beat Gresham 4-2.

Derek Corn, Caleb Grignon and C.J. Pyawasay each had two hits, with Pyawasay and Grignon each with a double.

Pyawasay was also the winner on the mound. In five innings, he allowed two runs on two hits, struck out eight and walked three.

Saturday, April 18

Hilbert 16, Menominee Nation 1

The Wolves topped the Eagles 16-1 in three innings.

Whiloe Windorski hit 2-for-2, and Natalie Peters had Menominee Nation’s RBI.

Green Bay Preble 13, Pulaski 6

Molly Molthen hit 3-for-4, and Madison Bloom and Kamrie Dorn each had two hits in Pulaski’s 13-6 loss to the Hornets.
