Wilbur August-Otto Dehn, 81, of Shawano, passed away Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013. Born on Sept. 1, 1932, in the town of Hartland, he was the son of the late Charles and Luella (Moesch) Dehn. Wilbur lived most of his life in the Bonduel area, where he enjoyed farm life. On May 22, 1965, he was united in marriage to Darlene Theilig. The couple lived near Bonduel until moving to Shawano 20 years ago. Wilbur was a member of St.

Frigid temperatures that settled in late this week caused the downtown Santa parade in Shawano to be postponed for what is believed to be the first time in its 19-year history. Officials from the Business Improvement District scrambled to get the word out to parade participants and others after voting about 11 a.m.

A Pulaski yacht builder has won a multi-million dollar Dutch contract and plans to hire 150 people. Marquis Yachts, in Pulaski, has struck a deal with VanDutch Marine in Holland. VanDutch America president Chris Holtzheuser said the initial order is for 420 boats. Marquis expects to hire as many as 70 people in the next month or two and will add up to 150 within the next year.

The mixture of stars and snowflakes are hung and flashing on my front porch. All of the halls are not as yet decorated, not a thing is inside, however, the outside was festooned to the best of my ability, and with a little help from my family, everything was plugged in. When we need to ship an animal to the meat market, we have a trucker that accommodates us for a nominal fee. So when my husband decided we should raise two pigs to butcher, we contacted our trucker. He offered to go to the sale barn, buy a couple for us and truck them out to the farm. It was worth it to us to purchase that service from this fellow, whom we trust completely.

To the editor: After reading the article about the second plan for re-use of the Shawano Medical Center property, I felt compelled to comment. Realizing that the committee has a very difficult task of trying to satisfy all the different concepts that must be coming from the community, one that seems to be missing to me is the Wolf River Beach.

This is the fourth year of Teen Services at the Shawano City-County Library, a program for ages 12 to 18. The library’s young adult librarian, Cathy Pescinski, tries to show the teens the benefits of going to the library. “We want them to come to think of the library as a cool place,” Pescinski said. She hosts the teens from 3-5 p.m.
