Colin “Pete” Tomow Sr., 65, of Keshena, entered the Spirit World on Sunday, March 23, 2014. Born on March 30, 1948, in Keshena, he was the son of the late Henry and Frances (Waupoose) Tomow. Pete worked for three years at the Menominee Tribal Police Department and 38 years for the Menominee Indian School District. When not working, he loved to hunt and fish.

William C. (Bill) Springborn Sr., “Springie,” 69, of the town of Richmond, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, March 22, 2014, with his loving family by his side. Bill was born Oct. 12, 1944, in Shawano, the son of the late Ralph and Jeanette (Page) Springborn.

Shawano Community Middle School On Thursday, there will be a very important presentation on cyber bullying in the LGI. The first presentation will be at 1 p.m. and the second at 6:30 p.m. This is a must-see event if you have a child in the middle school. Felony OWI A Gresham man who was out on bond in an alleged drunken driving case is now facing a felony charge of fifth-offense operating while intoxicated after his arrest in Shawano earlier this month. Randall K. Marquette, 50, was taken into custody March 15 after ignoring an attempted traffic stop, according to the criminal complaint.

Clintonville voters will have school, city and judicial races to decide when they go to the polls Tuesday. Three candidates are vying for two seats on the Clintonville Board of Education.

Gov. Scott Walker stopped in Clintonville on Tuesday to tour Specialized Products Ltd. to celebrate the company’s 20th anniversary and talk with employees about the importance of manufacturing in Wisconsin. Specialized Products has added jobs and completed three expansion and upgrade projects at the facility since 2011. “I applaud Specialized Products for their 20 years of service in the manufacturing industry,” Walker said.

A bill that will ease road restrictions for agricultural equipment is heading back to the state Senate for one more vote. Senate Bill 509 was amended by the Assembly last week, so the Senate must vote on the amendment before the bill can go to Gov. Scott Walker’s desk for approval.
