Colin “Pete” Tomow Sr., 65, of Keshena, entered the Spirit World on Sunday, March 23, 2014. Born on March 30, 1948, in Keshena, he was the son of the late Henry and Frances (Waupoose) Tomow.
Pete worked for three years at the Menominee Tribal Police Department and 38 years for the Menominee Indian School District. When not working, he loved to hunt and fish. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandpa and great-grandpa and will be sadly missed by many.
Pete is survived by his wife of 44 years, Angalacq; six children, Paul, Elizabeth (Mitchell), Karen (Dale Jr.), Margaret, Colin Jr. (Darlene), William; eight grandchildren, Stephanie, Adam, Maria, John Jr., Mason, Wyatt, Viviane, Dale III; five great-grandchildren, Desirae, Hailey, Jazmin, Kobe, Peirce; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Bernard “Joe” and Louis “Sonny” Tomow; and four sisters, Gertrude “Mindy,” Elizabeth “Pachie,” Lucille and Margaret.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 27, 2014, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Keshena with the Rev. David McElroy, O. Praem, officiating. Burial will be in Our Lady of the Woods Cemetery in West Branch in the spring. Visitation will be held at the Tomow residence, W2214 Keshena Lake Road, Keshena, from 1 p.m. Tuesday until the procession leaves for the church on Thursday.
