Burmesiter to lead all area ThedaCare hospitals
ThedaCare has named Brian Burmeister as senior vice president of Appleton Medical Center and Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah. Burmeister previously was ThedaCare’s senior vice president for primary care, behavioral health and rural hospitals. In his new role, he will continue to oversee the rural hospitals, which include ThedaCare Medical Center-New London, Riverside Medical Center in Waupaca, and Shawano Medical Center.
Janet V. Milbauer
Janet Violet Milbauer, 92, of Marion, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2014. Janet was born in Appleton on Dec. 19, 1921, to her parents, Inez and Ed Hickinbotham. She graduated from Shawano High School in 1939. She was united in marriage to James Milbauer on April 5, 1942. World War II saw James serving in the Coast Guard, and Janet followed him, working in Racine, Buffalo, N.Y., and Oakland, Calif.
Martha O. Nelson
Martha O. Nelson, 94, of Oshkosh and formerly of Shawano, died Thursday, May 1, 2014, at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac. Born on March 12, 1920, the daughter of Fredrick and Agatha (Hildemann) Steinberg, Martha was employed as a garment inspector at Eagle Knitting Mill in Shawano before her retirement. She was a former member of St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano and a current member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Oshkosh.
JoAnn D. Dobratz
JoAnn Dorothy (Miller) Dobratz, 83, of Shawano, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2014. Born on Feb. 1, 1931, in Suring, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Sarah Alice (Dieck) Miller. A graduate of Suring High School, she attended Milwaukee Business College. On Dec. 12, 1953, she was united in marriage to Roland Dobratz in Suring.
Doris F. Kroner
Doris F. Kroner, 95, of Shawano, passed away Sunday, May 4, 2014, at a local nursing home. Born on Jan. 23, 1919, in Seymour, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Irene (Burmeister) Lubinski. On May 1, 1940, Doris was united in marriage to Norbert Kroner in Seymour. The couple made their home and raised their children in the Shawano area. From 1954-1970, the couple ran the family business, The Crystal Bar, just west of Shawano.

Sharon Reyna
Sharon (nee Gardner) Reyna, 63, passed away Feb. 24, 2014. Sharon was born on the Stockbridge-Munsee Indian Reservation in Shawano County. She was the third child of five born to her late parents, Leona (Cuddy) Welch Gardner and Grady (Joe) Gardner Sr. Sharon passed away peacefully at the Seasons Hospice at West Lake Hospital in Chicago. She grew up in Milwaukee where she met the love of her life, Roman Reyna Sr., and was united in marriage Aug.
David O. “Dusty” Pocan
David Orlan “Dusty” Pocan, 61, of Oconto County, passed away Monday, May 5, 2014, at his home. Born on March 8, 1953, in Shawano, he was the son of the late Orlan and Margie (Frank) Pocan. After living the first few years of his life in the Gresham area, Dusty and his family moved to the Milwaukee area when he was about 7 years old.
Audrey L. Dickie
Audrey L. Dickie, 56, of Shawano, died on Monday, May 5, 2014. Born on Jan. 24, 1958, in Shawano, she was the daughter of the late Ruben and Nora (Dick) Hayes. Audrey was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Keshena. Audrey enjoyed riding in the woods, cutting firewood, sitting by the fire, singing, joking around and playing cards.
