Dorothy D. Koeller, 93, formerly of Shawano, passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning, May 14, 2014, at Lynn Health Care Center in Front Royal, Va. Gary D. Radtke, 76, died peacefully on Sunday, May 11, 2014, at home with his family at his side. He was born on Dec. 26, 1937, in Shawano, the son of Edward and Minnie Radtke. Gary graduated from Bonduel High School in 1955 and attended technical college for two years. On Aug. 25, 1962, he was united in marriage to Virginia Haley at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Oconto Falls.

The Clintonville Common Council appointed a new city attorney Tuesday, but only after Mayor Judith Magee said she had received a threat about the appointment “from a person sitting within this complex.” In April, the council failed to confirm Magee’s reappointment of Tim Schmid to the attorney position.

The Clintonville Common Council voted unanimously Tuesday to suspend City Administrator Lisa Kotter for five days without pay pending an investigation into alleged misconduct. Nearly 300 Shawano area residents got moving Wednesday in an effort to promote exercise and family unity. Shawano Pathways’ first “Let’s Get Moving” event at Kuckuk Park was made possible by a $5,000 grant from the Shawano Area Community Foundation. The event celebrated three new “loops” that combine five city parks (Kuckuk, Eberlein, Sturgeon, Martzke and Memorial).
