Suring High School wired for solar

Suring High School is the 54th high school to join the Wisconsin Public Service SolarWise for Schools program. Ten recently installed solar panels will provide the school with renewable energy from a 2.7 kilowatts photovoltaic system. The awning-type installation includes 10 photovoltaic panels each measuring 40 inches wide by 66 inches tall.

Panthers snap 30-game losing streak
The streak is finally over. It was a skid that the Oconto Falls High School football program didn’t necessarily want to be known for. It doesn’t have to be any longer. Panthers finish 3rd in Shawano tournament
Slow starts in two consecutive playoff games made winning more difficult for the Oconto Falls girls volleyball team Saturday. Each time, though, the Panthers were able to pull close or even tie the match.
Wolf fast at Shawano, boys take 4th
Oconto Falls High School senior Bailey Wolf finished second in Division 2 and sixth overall Saturday at the Shawano Invitational. Wolf completed the winding cross-country race at Shawano Community High School in 20 minutes, 14 seconds. Teammate Ashley Keuken followed in 21:59, and Jaclyn Erickson and Diane Moore ran within 30 seconds of each other at 23:03 and 23:31, respectively.

David J. Hawpetoss
David J. Hawpetoss, 48, of Gresham, tragically was called home on July 25, 2015. David was born to Jill Johnson and Bernard Hawpetoss on Jan. 29, 1967, in Green Bay. He loved spending time with the “fellas,” shooting pool, cheering on the Packers and taking in other sporting events.

Shawano couple among Sesquicentennial Farm Award honorees
JudyAnn and Richard Pahlow, of Shawano, were recently honored at the 2015 Wisconsin State Fair, presented by U.S. Cellular, for their sesquicentennial farm. The Sesquicentennial Farm Awards Program began in 1998 as part of the state’s sesquicentennial celebration.
