Josephine M. Ludvigsen

Josephine M. Ludvigsen, 84, of the town of Belle Plaine, Shawano County, passed away Friday morning, Dec. 4, 2015, at American Grand Assisted Living in Kaukauna. Josephine was born on March 6, 1931, in Belle Plaine as the daughter of the late Harold and Rose (Reetz) Carlson. She was raised in the town of Wescott, Shawano County, and graduated from Shawano High School in 1949. On Feb. 13, 1951, Josephine was united in marriage to James C. Ludvigsen. The married couple lived in their new home in Belle Plaine until James’s passing on Oct. 28, 2004. Josephine enjoyed working on puzzles, cooking, gardening and bird watching. Survivors include her daughters, Jacqualine Ludvigsen, Westfield, Jolene (Ronald) Mains, Savage, Minnesota, and Jeanette (Terry) Dobbe, Clintonville; sons, Jesse (Genia) Ludvigsen, Manassas Park, Virginia, Jody (Mariann) Ludvigsen, Menasha, Jake Ludvigsen, Shawano, and James (Denise) Ludvigsen, Gresham; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Elnora Roloff, Shawano; and brother, James Carlson, Shawano. Josephine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James; daughter, Joanne Ludvigsen; and a great-granddaughter, Bella, in infancy. Josephine’s funeral service will be held Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Family of Christ Assembly of God Church in Clintonville with the Rev. Ronald Mains officiating. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Clintonville. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
