I am planning on the family gathering here for Thanksgiving; it seems that has been the pattern over the past few years. We host Thanksgiving for my extended family every year. It’s always a joy to see them come through our front door. If they live close, each female family member with a house of their own brings a dish to pass. This year one brought dressing and a salad, a couple supplied the hot vegetables and my artistic niece brought an edible fruit creation.

To the editor: On Nov. 10 at 9 a.m., the Waupaca County Board held a public hearing on its 2016 proposed budget. There were four citizens who addressed the board. I was one. After thanking the board for reconsidering the work to be done on County Road I and agreeing to widen it, I made the following points: 1. Since the meeting was held on a weekday morning, most working folks were unable to attend.

My husband and I talked about it for several months, but he made it clear, the decision was mine to make and he would support my decision, whatever it was. Leaving something one enjoys makes the decision so much more difficult.
