The Salvation Army of Shawano County is in need of volunteers to ring bells during the Red Kettle Campaign, which runs through Dec. 24.
Bell ringers are needed at Charlie’s County Market, Pick ‘N Save, Qualheim’s True Value and Wal-Mart. Ringing takes place on Friday and Saturday during the season.
A special bell-ringing effort will take place Dec. 11 and 12.
A 15-year-old runaway from the town of Wescott and three other teens were stopped by Shawano police early Friday in what turned out to be a stolen car.
Officer Heidi Cartwright pulled the car over on Cleveland Street shortly after 12 a.m. for having expired registration tags, according to the police report.
