New bands, more fireworks and the return of the bike raffle. The 103rd annual Bonduel Fourth of July celebration is here.
While many area communities plan fireworks, Bonduel’s annual celebration includes much more than the pyrotechnic display.
Chad Przybylski and Nashville Pipeline will provide the musical entertainment Friday. Przybylski performs from 1-6 p.m., and Nashville Pipeline performs from 7-11 p.m.
“The bands they had in previous years did a fantastic job, and this year we wanted to try to change things up a little bit,” said Gina Gregor, secretary/treasurer of the Bonduel Civic Association, which sponsors the celebration. “The bands are a little more well known and might attract younger audiences.”
Retired Army Col. Richard Kucksdorf has been named grand marshal for the parade, which steps off at 11 a.m. Friday. This year’s celebration also includes the return of the popular bike raffle at 3 p.m. at Village Park, as well as new vendors, games and food.
Gregor said the fireworks show, which begins about 9:45 p.m., will also be longer this year with the help of local businesses.
“We have a bigger, better display,” she said.
The Civic Association continues the fun Sunday with an antique car show in Cedar Park.
