Dean William “Beaner” Moesch

Dean William “Beaner” Moesch, 79, of Shawano, passed away Friday, July 11, 2014, in Shawano. Born on Dec. 27, 1934, in Laona, he was the son of the late Harvey and Bernice (Schultz) Moesch. Dean enlisted in the Army and served in the Korean Conflict. On May 14, 2014, he married Karen Marcks. Dean loved horseback riding and enjoyed going to the Shawano Civic Center to read the paper and talking on his cell phone. Dean is survived by his wife, Karen; his children, Debbi (Jeff) Berkhahn, of Green Bay, Dean H. (Lou Ann) Moesch, of Cecil, Dawn (Kraig) Knueppel, of Cecil, David (Mary Jo) Moesch, of Oneida; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; brother, Kenneth “Pete” Moesch, of Shawano; sisters, Annabelle Hertzfeldt, of Shawano, Jackie (Richard) Abel, of Zachow, and Mary (Bill) Schoenike, of Shawano, brother-in-law, Lee (Bonnie) Marcks, of Waukesha; sister-in-law, Barbara (Mike) Wendt, of Irma; and several nieces and nephews. Dean was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Jim Hertzfeldt. Private family services with military rites by Shawano American Legion Post 117 will be held at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with the Rev. Marty Black officiating.
