A&W announces partnership with Lacy

Eddie Lacy, the NFL’s 2013 offensive rookie of the year, will be the new name, face and number for A&W restaurants this football season, A&W announced last week. A&W and green and gold enthusiasts alike can score the Eddie Burger for $1.27 whenever No. 27 scores a touchdown or if he gets 100 yards of total offense in any game. A&W will honor the promotion all day Monday after every game. “We are so excited to be working with Eddie this season,” said Barb Gretzinger, A&W owner. “We recently spent some time with Eddie, and he’s such an incredible guy. He’s a perfect fit for us and our customers. The football season can’t start fast enough!” “I was so honored to be asked to partner with A&W,” Lacy said. “When I heard that the first A&W opened in 1919 as a root beer stand so the owner could welcome home soldiers from World War I, I thought it doesn’t get much better than that.” The new A&W $1.27 Eddie Burger promotion begins with the first preseason game Aug. 9. The promotion will run every week through Dec. 28 and will be extended if Green Bay makes the playoffs.
