Oconto Falls High School senior Carly Lemke placed seventh in the Division 2 high jump at the WIAA state track and field finals Friday and Saturday in La Crosse.
Lemke cleared 5 feet, 0 inches at the meet at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, the same height she finished at in last year’s state meet. She qualified as Oconto Falls’ sole representative in the state meet after tying the school record with a jump of 5 feet, 3 inches at the sectional finals in Freedom on May 30.
Lemke, who finished ninth in 2013, also was part of the school’s volleyball and basketball teams that qualified for state this year.
In Division 3 competition, Gillett sophomore Taylor Kohls took home a ninth-place finish in the discus, with a throw of 108 feet, 6 inches.
Akeem Bates, of Gillett, captured ninth in the long jump (19 feet, 10 inches) and 16th in the triple jump.
Lena/St. Thomas Aquinas senior Roy O’Harrow finished ninth in the 200-meter dash in 23.53 seconds.
