Jeffrey A. Legner

Jeffrey A. Legner, 33, of Odell, Ill., died Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at 5:08 a.m. as a result of an auto accident on Interstate Highway 55 in rural Dwight, Ill. Jeff was born on May 30, 1980, in Pontiac, Ill., a son of Dennis and Vicki (Kridner) Legner. He married Heidi Boehlen on Aug. 5, 2006, at Oconto Falls. She survives in Odell, Ill. Also surviving are three children, Zack, Tiffany and Chris, all at home; his father, Dennis Legner, of Odell, Ill.; his mother, Vicki Legner, of Bloomington, Ill.; one brother, Kevin (Erin) Legner, of Bloomington, Ill., his mother-in-law, Anne Boehlen, of Oconto Falls; and a special four-legged friend, Payton. Jeff was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents and one uncle, Kevin Legner. Jeff was educated in Deer Creek Mackinaw High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree from Illinois State University in construction management. He was employed by In Motion Builders of Pompano Beach, Fla., where he was a project manager. Jeff was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Chenoa. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the Illinois State Redbirds, Chicago Bears and St. Louis Cardinals. His funeral was held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 28, at the First United Methodist Church, Chenoa, Ill., with the Rev. Carrie Carnes officiating. Burial was in South Side Cemetery, Pontiac, Ill. A visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Calvert & Martin Funeral Home, Pontiac. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a trust fund for his children, c/o Odell Bank, 200 S.
