David K. Hawkinson

David K. Hawkinson “Hawk,” 65, of Wheatfield, Indiana, formerly of Tomahawk and Shawano, drew his last breath here on Earth on Oct. 20, 2022. His family is grateful that he isn’t suffering any longer and look forward to eternity. David was born on March 18, 1957, to Donald and Donna (Holton) Hawkinson in Marshfield. Hawk married the love of his life, Susan Gartzke, on Aug. 14, 1976, in Shawano.
Vickie J. Miller
Vickie J. Miller, 72, of Jefferson, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2022, at Jefferson Memory Care with her loving family by her side. Vickie was born on June 14, 1950, in Oconto Falls, the daughter of Victor and Claudine (Umentum) Peterson. She grew up in Gillett and married Allan Miller. Vickie was blessed with six loving children, Scott, Jean, Susan, Gary, Jennifer, and Lisa.
Carl W. Dittman
Carl W. Dittman, 90, of Gillett, passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2022. Carl was born on May 5, 1932, on the family farm near Berry Lake. He was the youngest son of the late Charlie and Ottilia (Dirks) Dittman. Carl attended the Lutheran High School of Milwaukee. He continued his education at Concordia University, where he received an associate’s degree in liberal arts.
Arla A. Block
Arla A. Block, 75, of the Town of Elderon, died on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2022, at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield. Arla was born on Nov. 27, 1946, in Shawano, the daughter of Carl and Evelyn (Wege) Jacobson. Arla graduated from Wittenberg High School in 1965.
Jeff Miller Sr.
Jeff Miller Sr. “Big Guy,” 67, died peacefully at home, in the arms of his wife, on Oct. 13, 2022, after a brief but courageous battle with metastatic pancreatic cancer. Jeff was born in New London on Feb. 9, 1955, to Winona (Miller) and Donald Pecard. He was adopted by his maternal grandparents at the age of 4 along with his siblings, after his parents were both killed in a tragic car accident.
Lawrence D. Wetzel
Lawrence D. Wetzel, 61, of Racine, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2022. Larry was born in Shawano on March 21, 1961, to Leonard and Lois (nee Hawkins) Wetzel. He was a 1979 graduate of Shawano High School and a 1982 graduate of the Wisconsin School of Electronics. Larry was employed with GE, Federal Mailing Systems, and The Courtney Company. Big Lar, as his family and friends called him, was truly a gentle giant.
John Sippel Sr.
John Sippel Sr., 86, of the Town of Washington, passed away at his home Saturday morning, Oct. 15, 2022, under the care of his family and ThedaCare at Home Hospice. John was born June 24, 1936, in Fond du Lac as the son of the late Nicholas and Margaret (Goeser) Sippel. As a young man, he served his country in the United States Air Force.
