Work has begun in earnest on the Oconto County budget for 2025, with the county board’s approval July 18 of the annual budget guidance letter. The county is working its way through a 2024 budget that features $50,157,268 in expenditures and a county property tax levy of $22,061,436.

Hofa Park 16, Navarino 5 Brinton Anderson collected three hits in four at bats, as the Hofa Park Panthers defeated the Navarino Rangers 16-5 on July 28 at Hofa Park. In the IMCA modifiers feature at the Shawano Speedway on July 27, Shawano’s Jordan Bartz moved up from starting 10th to take the checkered flag. Tigerton’s Wyatt Block, who started one spot in front of Bartz, finished one spot behind at the end. Seymour’s Chuck Carmin placed third. Wausau’s Kevin Feck won the first heat after starting in third place.
