Panthers take third at home meet
Sept. 16 Oconto Falls Invitational The Oconto Falls golf team finished in third place at their home invitational at River Island Golf Course. The Panthers scored a 403, just ahead of fourth-place Pulaski’s 417. Bonduel was eighth with a 445, and Shawano was ninth with 486. Marinette won with a 379. Individual scorers for Oconto Falls were Taylor Miller at 89, Olivia Wagner at 96, Ava Salscheider at 107 and Kyle Thompson at 111.
Strong Bodies classes start up again
University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Extension of Shawano County will again be offering the Strong Bodies program, an exercise program for middle-aged and older adults. Classes are offered in Bonduel, Birnamwood, Wittenberg, Shawano and Tigerton. Classes are held twice weekly, and each class includes progressive weight training, flexibility and balance activities.

Run game leads Love-less Packers to victory
With Jordan Love missing the home opener, it was Josh Jacobs and the running game that led Green Bay to a 16-10 win over the Indianapolis Colts in Week 2. The Packers totaled 261 yards on 53 attempts on the ground, which totals the most rushing yards in a game by the Packers since 2003. Jacobs finished the game with 151 yards on 32 carries.
Narveson doesn’t let missed kicks get him down
Like quarterback Malik Willis, kicker Brayden Narveson played for the Tennessee Titans before signing with the Green Bay Packers. In Willis’ case, backup QB Sean Clifford and draft pick Michael Pratt were both jettisoned, and Willis was traded for to fill the void.
