Marilyn (Ravenhill) Nelson, 85, of Lake Mills and formerly Oconto Falls, passed away peacefully at her home on Dec. 17, 2024. Marilyn was born in Watertown on Nov. 6, 1939, to Carl and Fern (Sander) Ravenhill and grew up in Lake Mills, graduating from Lake Mills High School in 1957.

Dec. 21 Bay Area 8, Lakeshore Lightning 1 The Bay Area girls hockey team lit up the Lakeshore Lightning 8-1 on the ice in Mequon. Seven different girls scored for the Ice Bears, with Elizabeth Zunker the only one scoring twice. Addison Dahl and Hannah Von Haden each scored in the first period. Emily Bill and Zunker scored in the second.

Dec. 20 Lena 52, Gillett 50 Gillett stormed back in the second half, but Lena held on to secure a 52-50 win. It was the tale of two halves, with Lena winning the first half 28-16 and Gillett taking the second half 34-24. The best news for seniors and families served by the organizations is that they won’t see any change in their level of services. Former Oconto County judge Larry Jeske died Dec. 15 at his home in the Town of Oconto Falls. He was 84. A longtime private attorney, Jeske was first elected to the bench in April 1993 and served two six-year terms. He later served 17 years as the part-time Oconto Falls city attorney. Visitation and a funeral service were held Dec. 21 at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls.
