Lena girls top Gillett by 2 points

Dec. 20 Lena 52, Gillett 50 Gillett stormed back in the second half, but Lena held on to secure a 52-50 win. It was the tale of two halves, with Lena winning the first half 28-16 and Gillett taking the second half 34-24. Lena was led by Madilyn Thomson’s 24 points, with Eva Brooks adding 15 and Kali Fischer scoring 10. Brooks and Thomson each had 13 rebounds and three assists. Fischer and Haley Van Ark each grabbed two steals. For Gillett, it was Cilena Guns with 16 points and Hope Soper with 14. Both teams are 4-1 in the Marinette & Oconto Conference. Ashwaubenon 43, Pulaski 30 Olivia Sprangers scored more than half of Pulaski’s points but the Red Raiders still came up short, losing 43-30 to Ashwaubenon. Sprangers scored 16 points. Leading 19-17 at the half, Pulaski couldn’t maintain its lead, getting outscored 26-11 after the break. Niagara 56, Suring 34 A dominating second half saw Niagara run away with the game, defeating Suring (4-4, 2-4) 56-34. Niagara led 27-23 at halftime, but poured it on in the second half, topping Suring 29-11. The Eagles were led by Bunny Cramer with 12 points and Aliya Cox with 10. Bonduel 54, Shiocton 39 Audrey Weier scored 16 points and Juliana Jacobs added 10 as Bonduel defeated Shiocton 54-39. Jacobs led the Bears with 13 rebounds.
