Strong Bodies starting two classes in March

Strong Bodies, an evidence-based strength training program, is starting new classes at two locations. The first class begins March 3 and is held from 8-9:15 a.m. Mondays and Fridays at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church, 11005 County Road M, Suring. The second class begins March 17 and runs from 10-11:15 a.m. Mondays and Thursdays at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 101 W.
Gunless poultry shoot in Lakewood
The next American Legion Gunless Poultry Shoot will take place at 1 p.m. Feb. 22 at Firelite Lounge, 15329 State Highway 32, Lakewood. American Legion Post 44 will be raffling off packages of meat, poultry, sausages, bacon, beverages and items donated by local businesses. There will also be 50/50 and basket raffles.
USDA releases final 2024 crop production numbers
Corn for grain production in Wisconsin for 2024 was estimated at 515 million bushels, according to the USDA, National Agricultural Statistics Service – Crop Production 2024 Summary. Current year production was down 7% from the previous year’s 553 million bushels. Wisconsin’s corn for grain yield was estimated at 174 bushels per acre.

Leeder could be accepting plea deal

Sheriff: Don’t expect ICE roundups in Shawano County

Hearing postponed in child enticement case
A hearing was postponed again Feb. 7 for a Peshtigo man serving time in a federal prison and charged with exploiting and sexually assaulting teenage girls in Oconto County. Zachary A. Zastawniak, 24, was scheduled to enter pleas Dec. 11, but that hearing was delayed while his attorneys studied whether to file a motion to dismiss based on double jeopardy.
