Carol A. Frechette, 72, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Monday, Nov. 18, 2013, at United Hospital System-Kenosha Campus surrounded by her loving family. Born in Keshena on Jan. 13, 1941, she was the daughter of Vera and Red Tatro. She graduated from Antigo High School. On Aug. 15, 1961, she married Lawrence Frechette in Waukegan, Ill. They moved to Kenosha in 1962. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.

Roger George Acra, 76, passed away peacefully Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013, after a long and courageous battle with heart disease, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 29, 1937, in Jerusalem, the son of George and Eleanore Acra. In 1956 Roger moved to the United States to attend college. After meeting at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Roger was united in marriage to the love of his life, Muriel Joyce Swanson, on March 22, 1958.

The committee planning the Holiday Stroll and Santa Parade in Shawano has selected Willis Qualheim as parade marshal for the 19th annual event. Willis and his wife, Margie, will lead the parade through downtown Shawano on Dec. 6 as this year’s distinguished Business Improvement District business leader The parade begins at 6 p.m.

The Shawano School District is in the process of updating its wellness policy, with the help of ThedaCare. The School Board had its first reading of the policy Monday, and formal approval is expected to come at the board’s Dec. 4 meeting.
