Jamboree revs up summer in Shawano
The Jumpin’ June Jamboree will jump-start the summer festival season in Shawano with a car show, crafts, children’s activities and live music Saturday. Miss Lorraine A. Stuewer, 104, of Shawano, passed away at Evergreen Care Center in Shawano on Sunday morning, June 8, 2014. Lorraine was born on Oct. 12, 1909, in the town of Lessor, Shawano County, a daughter of the late Adolph and Eleanora (Borchardt) Stuewer. Linda Sue Caldwell, 62, of Neopit, walked on after a short illness, on June 6, 2014. Linda was born on June 26, 1951, in Keshena to the late Alexander “Askie” and Sue (John) Askenette. She was united in marriage to Eugene Joseph Caldwell on Feb. 3, 1973. Linda was employed by Menominee Tribal Enterprises for 35 years, first working as the secretary for forestry and later as an accounting clerk until the time of her illness.
Elizabeth L. Megna
Elizabeth L. (Betty) Megna, 88, died on June 6, 2014. Betty was born on July 26, 1925, in Guttenberg, Iowa. She attended grade and high school in Milwaukee. After World War II, Betty married Mark A. Megna on Aug. 30, 1947. They moved to Shawano, where Mark was a teacher and Betty a homemaker and then a part-time/full-time bookkeeper.
