Roger E. Page, 81, of Clintonville, passed away Thursday morning, Sept. 25, 2014, at Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah. The Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory of Clintonville is assisting his family with the arrangements.

Shawano’s Department of Public Works this past week took steps to make a pedestrian crossing on East Green Bay Street more obvious to motorists. The crossing previously had only a warning sign in the middle of the four lanes designating it for pedestrian right-of-way. The Bonduel High School girls volleyball team beat Gillett in three straight games, the home crowd helped the Bears outraise Gillett in the dash for cash, and more than a $1,000 was raised at the “Dig for a Cure” Thursday at Bonduel High School. Down two games, the Gresham Community High School volleyball team had no quit in it, forcing Tigerton to a 28-28 tie in the third game of a Central Wisconsin Conference-10 match Tuesday in Gresham. The Wildcats finally gave up the last two points to Tigerton, losing the game 30-28 and the match along with it. “Our girls just kept fighting,” Gresham coach Tim Wild said. “It took until the very end.

The Shawano Community High School girls golf team is young, with four juniors and a freshman comprising the varsity squad. So coach Dean Kugler just wanted to see the team improve as the season went on. “They have done a really good job of plugging away and trying to get better,” Kugler said after Monday’s Green Bay Notre Dame Triton Invite at Thornberry Creek at Oneida.
