Following a 66-9 rout of Shawano on Thursday night, the Oconto Falls High School wrestling team is out to a 4-0 record in the Bay Conference. “I think our best is yet to come, but it’s starting to get into place,” said Kinziger, who is a tri-head coach for the Panthers.

Entering Friday’s game at Shawano, the Oconto Falls High School girls basketball team had never lost to its Bay Conference foe. Authorities on Monday released the name of the man found dead Thursday in the wreckage of a home destroyed by fire in Green Valley. Kenneth P. Lawniczak, 55, was the home owner and sole resident, according to the Shawano County Sheriff’s Department. Firefighters responded to the fire on Town Line Road in Green Valley, just west of Krakow, shortly after 6 a.m. The house was already engulfed when they arrived.

We’ve left another year behind and 2015 is here! It’s hard to believe that I’ve been writing this column for 10 years and have been on this earth for almost 75! In my first column, in January 2005, I introduced readers to the Mielke Arts Center and The Box in the Wood Theatre Guild.

I heard the other day that it was Clean Your Desk Day. I had to laugh at that. First of all, I don’t have a normal size desk. When I built the house, I wanted an office and a built-in desk. A place for everything and everything in its place, I thought. Yeah, well, that might have lasted if I wasn’t a clutter bug at heart. I have occasionally gotten to the bottom of the clutter on the desk.
